Who we are:
Our membership and guiding board are northwestern utilities, not-for-profits, and local governments. We are a project of Washington State University.
Some of our projects:
NWSC manages the Washington State/DOE Million Roofs Project.
NWSC is developing a cloudy climate test center for evaluating solar module and balance-of-systems performance in northwest climates
NWSC manages the Washington State off grid, plug and play solar rebate program.
NWSC currently asists NW utilities in implementing community based power production incentive programs for local solar power producers.
NWSC staff has assisted its members in implementing over 2 million dollars in small scale renewable energy sources over the last three years
NWSC staff was the chief instigator of the Whitebluffs Solar Project at Hanford. This is the largest public solar project in the Northwest
NWSC is a prime sponsor of Solar Washington's Solar Home Tour
NWSC works with Legislator's, Local Governments, Industry, to promote programs that will accelerate market penetration of renewable technologies.
NWSC is working with the Florida Energy Center to Develop a data base of distributed energy sources, evaluate real world performance and develop curriculm and training resources
